Our beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully at the age of 81 in Edmonton, Alberta with her family by her side. She was born on September 13, 1934 to Alcide and Lena Doucette in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. In 1943 the family moved to Vancouver, BC. Louise married John Hesson in 1959 and in 1965 they moved to Bonnyville, Alberta to take up farming. The family later moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta in 1972 and then to Edmonton, Alberta in 1974 where Louise worked as a secretary and formed lasting friendships with Mary, Wanda, Barb, and Carol of the provincial government seniors bureau.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, John, daughter Karen, sons Jeffrey and David (Laurie), brothers Fred and Joe (Pat), brothers-in-law Mike and Miros, sisters-in-law Sophie and Edith, and many special nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Louise was predeceased by her parents Alcide and Lena, sisters: Deanna, Mary Jane, Dorelis “Dodie” and brothers: Lionel, Lucien “Luke”, Ralph, Phillip, Jerome and Maurice.

Louise loved keeping up with the news, making puzzles, taking cruises, and visiting with family and friends. She had a witty sense of humour and always looked on the bright side of life. She encouraged us to keep making happy memories. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all of her family and friends whose lives she touched.

Respecting Louise’s wishes, no formal services will be held following cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louise’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, a children’s charity, or a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and sincerest appreciation to Dr. Suen and the staff at the Jasper Place Continuing Care Centre for the care and kindness they gave to Louise during her stay.
