<div itemprop="description">On January 2, Ray passed away quietly with his family at his side. <br> <br>Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years Diane; children Angela (Doug) Bryce, Trevor Laitila, Heather (Mark) Autio, Sharon (Paul) Mollins; grandchildren James (Lynise), Garth (Allison), Amanda (Brian), Cody, Kirstin, Jacob, Cassandra, Ayla; great-grandson Ewan; brother Kenny (Gail). Ray will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his parents Eero and Sylvie and his older brother Walter. <br> <br>Raymond grew up near Eckville, and moved to Edmonton in 1955. He was a crankshaft grinder, machinist, and master fabricator, and worked for many years out of the Boilermakers Union 146. He was a Collector of many things, including guns, cartridges, books, and antiques. He was a natural and patient teacher, sharing his talents and abilities to create, make or fix anything. Ray enjoyed travelling to gun shows and the outdoors. His quiet strength and sense of humour will be missed. <br> <br>In Lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s name may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, T6G 1Z2. The kindness of the staff there is greatly appreciated. <br></div>
