It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elmer (Fuzz) after a lengthy battle with COPD. Elmer will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by seven brothers and three sisters; Arthur Bautz, Edmund Bautz, Alvin (Rita) Bautz, Daneda (Ed) Gailland, Elden (Marie) Bautz, Edwald Bautz, Annette (Brian) Stewart, Elsie Schaefer, Larry (Sandy) Bautz and Lorne (Elaine) Bautz; and by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Gustav Bautz, mother Emma Bautz, brothers; Henry and Harold Bautz, two sisters-in-law; Vivian and Ruby Bautz, niece Carla Bautz, and nephew Dean Bautz.
Elmer, the eleventh of 13 children, was born on February 17, 1945 to Gustav and Emma Bautz at the Heidecker Farm in the Middle District. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He attended Mackintosh School for grades 1-8 and 9-10 at Grove Lake, High School in Middle Lake. Elmer’s job careers started at 16 years of age; Royalite Bulk Sales, Gunner Mines, Outlook Dam, Sun Life, Davies Electric, Inco Nickel, Kirsch Construction, Crown Zellerbach Ocean Falls, Northwood Pulp and Paper, Intercontinental Pulp, Mercury Mine, McMillan Bloedel, Raffin Electric, Paddy Harrison, Birch Tree Mine, Churchill Forest Industries, Genpeg dam projects, Standard General BACM, Fort Mac-market garden and Syncrude job sites, Welders helper Genysis power plant, Banister Majestic oiler, Laferlane Construction Thompson Manitoba, Fort Mac North American and Klemke Mining Corporation, Thorhild farm sitting, Cranbrook Gold Mine.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Middle Lake, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church; Box 179, Middle Lake, Saskatchewan S0K 2X0 or to the Centre For Lung Health Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre Main Floor, 11111 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, Alberta T5K 0L4.
