December 7, 1982 - May 25, 2016
Matthew Alan Laycraft
December 7,1982 – May 24, 2016
Matthew went home to his loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after seven and one-half years of battling cancer. Matthew was born in Calgary and spent the first few years of his life in Strathmore. Matthew and his family moved to Claresholm where Matthew attended school. After high school Matthew attended the University of Lethbridge obtaining a degree in Multimedia. He met and married Candice while living there and upon finishing school moved to Edmonton. After having several jobs and operating a cabinet building business he returned to take schooling at the University of Calgary to obtain his social work degree. His greatest joy was helping others and he joined the staff at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton. He loved people, especially his daughter Felicity and maintained his quirky sense of humor and remained a gentle soul even in life’s trials. All who knew him will miss Matthew.
His loss will be felt by his daughter Felicity (age 4), his parents Ron and Susan Laycraft, and brother Curtis Laycraft and sister-in-law Roxanne.
A memorial service will be held at Gospel Centre Pentecostal Church in Edmonton on Monday, May 30th at 7:00 PM
In lieu of flowers the Laycraft family has started a trust fund for Felicitys Post-Secondary education. To donate please check out Matthew’s blog at LayCraft Design/matt
