Peacefully, on January 17, 2013 Lou passed away at the age of 71 with his family at his side.

Lou will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years Betty; son Glenn; daughter Debbie (Adrian) Bridge; grandchildren Ryan and Julia; siblings Francis (Ralph) Williams, Linda (David) Ewing, Bob (Melody) Nikish, Mickey (Ron) Nikish. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was born and raised in and around Eastend, Saskatchewan farming at the family farm until moving to Edmonton in 1968. Lou ("Sonny") worked as a carpenter at Binder Construction during the 70's and early 80's, and other construction jobs throughout Alberta during the rest of his career. Lou enjoyed woodworking and building furniture; giving away his projects gave him much pleasure. During this last year he was often seen roaming around Devon on his red adult tricycle, usually on his way to the Devon Hospital "to visit his bride".

The family would like to thank the Community of Devon for looking out for him.

And in the words of Lou, "Don't forget to vote!"
