On Thursday, November 8, 2012, Everett George Johnson of Edmonton died peacefully at 81 years of age.
Everett (also known as Johnny or Butch) was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on February 7, 1931, the youngest child of Everett Homer and Nellie May (Wilson) Johnson.
Everett will be lovingly remembered by his children Faye (Trevor) McLoughlin, Eleanor Brennan, Dean (Anneli) Johnson, and Karen (Stewart) Gould. Also by his grandchildren Dean (Wanda) Brennan, Colleen (Kris) Galbraith, Michelle (Neil) Halls, Stewart (Edyta) McLoughlin, Naomi Williams, Aaron Gould, Shaun Johnson and great-grandchildren Nathan and Eric Halls, Emily, Lana and Kade Williams, Connor McLoughlin, and Madelyn Brennan.
Everett was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Maureen and her parents Henry and Mary McLeod, her siblings Helen Gibbs, and Alan McLeod; and by his parents Everett and Nellie Johnson; his siblings and their spouses Bill (Ede) Johnson, Myrtle (George) Gracie, and Eleanora (Hugh) Wilson. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Robert Brennan.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 10:00 AM at Howard & McBride Westlawn Funeral Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #1010, 10117 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, T5J-1W8.
