OLIVE , Donald Weldon
June 26, 1921 – September 16, 2012
Sunshine fades and shadows fall, but sweet remembrance outlasts all.
On September 16, 2012 Donald (Don) Olive, age 91, left his earthly family to join his wife of 69 years, Etta May Olive, who passed away on May 8, 2012.
As a very young man, Don proudly enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy. Don’s time spent serving his country in World War II was in the North Atlantic.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: William (Bill) Olive, (Bonnie-Lea) and Loretta (Lorrie) Olive, (Victor Fraser); sister, Edna Vanderburgh; sister-in-law, Mary MacDonald; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Don’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2012 at Howard & McBride Westlawn Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton. A visitation will be held at the chapel prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Anyone wishing to remember Don, may make a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
